Diagon Alley Shopping at Universal Studios Florida

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley

Two sentence insider summary
The first street you enter in the new Wizarding World, Diagon Alley has the biggest concentration of stores not only in the new land, but also in the entire resort – or, just possibly, in any theme park across the globe. The vast amount of your time in the area will easily be spent here, going from shop to shop (not to mention eating at either the Leaky Cauldron or Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlor and experiencing Ollivander’s Wand Shop), making this come dangerously close to being, after Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts and the Hogwarts Express, Diagon Alley’s third attraction.

List of stores

  • Quality Quidditch Supplies – offers sweaters, brooms, and all the Quidditch props from the films. A number of in-world teams are represented, including the Chudley Cannons and the Holyhead Harpies.
  • Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes – an exact replica of the set from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, this three-story shop offers most of the items that were originally on sale at the former Zonko’s at Hogsmeade, plus a few new items, such as Decoy Detonators, Umbridge on Unicycles, and Nose-biting Teacups. (Be sure to check out the fireworks that go off through the ceiling’s skylight!)
  • Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions – features a full array of wizard wear, from Hogwarts school uniforms to cardigans and character costumes – and even hats.
  • Ollivander’s Wand Shop – not unlike Dervish and Banges over in Hogsmeade, Ollivander’s carries wands in a variety of options: original, unique designs; character replicas; and full sets. (Note: we also have an individual page dedicated to Ollivander’s – click here.)
  • Sugarplum’s Sweetshop – added to Diagon Alley a little over a year after it opened, this candy shop is the more elaborate sister of Hogsmeade’s Honeydukes. It boasts a variety of freshly baked and prepackaged offerings to satisfy any visitor’s sweet tooth.

What you wish you knew before you experienced it
Unlike in Walt Disney World, whose stores are all rather homogenized, Diagon Alley’s shops feature disparate items that aren’t carried anywhere else (well, besides a bit of overlap with the first Wizarding World), which helps to make each stop along the street thoroughly irresistible. Don’t ever underestimate the amount of time and money that will be required just to make it to the next alleyway!

OI fun fact
While each store had its own queue (Universal learned its lesson from the still-long lines to get into Hogsmeade’s various stores), most of them are never used.
